Veolia: presents its growth plans in Spain
(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia has unveiled its growth ambitions in the Spanish environmental services market.
In Europe, Spain is a key zone for Veolia, which, after investing over E360m between 2022 and 2023 to reach E2.6bn in sales by 2023, is continuing its ambitious growth trajectory.
In the water sector, Veolia Spain offers solutions for the complete management of the water cycle for cities, industries and agriculture. Between 2022 and 2023 Veolia has invested more than E270m in adaptation, both in water concessions, the implementation of innovative solutions to reuse wastewater or ensure quality water free of pollutants, or drought-related plans.
The group also has significant ambitions in the energy efficiency and waste recycling sectors.
Veolia wants to support the country's electrification and decarbonization. 8 acquisitions in this sector will be completed by the end of the year, including Geoter, Groen, Electrimega, Frimarte and Cactus, for a total investment of E50m.
In the waste sector, the Group has made several key acquisitions between 2020 and 2023, including the TorrePET site in Extremadura and the La Red site in Andalusia, which specialize in plastic recycling. Veolia will thus be able to continue its work to maximize circularity, recycling and the recovery of materials.
The investments we have initiated, whether to ensure the highest quality water in all circumstances, to produce renewable energies locally or to develop recycling, will enable the Spanish population to be better equipped to face the challenges posed by climate change, it says.
