Societe Generale: new target set for sustainable finance
(CercleFinance.com) - On the occasion of the COP, Societe Generale reaffirms its ambition to accelerate its contribution to the environmental transition, by setting a new target of 500 billion euros of contribution to sustainable finance by 2030.
This target for the period 2024-30 is made up of around 400 billion euros of financing (including advisory) and 100 billion of sustainable bonds, and is split between approximately 80% on the environmental side and 20% on the social side.
The bank emphasizes that it is ahead of schedule in reaching its target of contributing 300 billion euros to sustainable finance by 2022-25, having 'made major progress this year in deploying its ESG strategy'.
