Lockheed Martin: next flight of the LM400 spacecraft
(CercleFinance.com) - Lockheed Martin announces the upcoming launch of the LM 400, a new medium-sized multi-purpose space vehicle.
The vehicle has completed testing and is preparing to embark on a Firefly Aerospace Alpha rocket in the first half of 2025.
According to Jeff Schrader, Vice President Strategy and Business Development at Lockheed Martin Space, this satellite is designed for 'all missions and all orbits', offering flexibility for military, civil and commercial customers.
Featuring the SmartSat software architecture, it enables on-board data processing and interoperability with military systems to support 'CJADC2' (Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control) operations, synchronizing command and control capabilities across all domains (land, sea, air, space and cyberspace) and between different military branches.
The LM 400 is part of the company's strategy of self-financed innovation, aimed at responding rapidly to emerging threats.
