Kering: first targets to help biodiversity
(CercleFinance.com) - After a one-year pilot phase conducted by the Science Based Targets Network, in which it had participated, Kering says it has adopted its first science-based targets for nature at global level, as part of its commitment to protecting and restoring biodiversity.
An initial target for freshwater quantity focuses initially on the Arno basin in Tuscany, which accounts for a significant proportion of the luxury group's water consumption in its supply chain.
Kering's objectives for limiting its impact on soil cover the same perimeters and include 'a commitment not to convert natural ecosystems, to reduce its soil footprint and to participate in relevant and meaningful landscape initiatives'.
