Atos: contract for a supercomputer in Finland

(CercleFinance.com) - Atos announces a framework contract worth up to 60 million euros for its Eviden division, with CSC - IT Center for Science in Finland for the development of 'Roihu', Finland's newest national supercomputer.


"With Roihu, CSC will triple the computing capacity of the existing 'Mahti' and 'Puhti' systems, and also significantly increase its performance in artificial intelligence", explains the IT services group.

Built on its BullSequana XH3000 hybrid platform, the new system will cover a wide range of use cases, including record analysis and simulations such as fluid dynamics and climate modeling.

'Another benefit is that Roihu is poised to revolutionize access to education in higher education institutions, providing a flexible and scalable resource for a wide range of users', adds Atos.
