Eni: launches its HPC6 supercomputer
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces the launch of its new HPC6 supercomputer, reaching a computing power of 606 PFlop/s, or more than 600 quadrillion operations per second.
(As a reminder, 1 quadrillion = 10 power 24)
Ranked 5ᵉ in the TOP500 of global supercomputers published on November 18, 2024, HPC6 is the first in Europe, the first for industrial use in the world and the only non-American system in the top 5, Eni points out.
HPC6 will accelerate Eni's transformation by identifying scalable and sustainable solutions while supporting new partnerships.
According to Claudio Descalzi, Eni's CEO, this supercomputer is an 'indispensable lever for achieving Net Zero and maintaining Eni's leadership in the energy transition'.
