Rio Tinto: acquires over 98% of ERA shares
(CercleFinance.com) - Rio Tinto announces that it has acquired over 98% of the shares in Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) following the completion of ERA's rights offer, which raised AUD 766.
5 million to fund the rehabilitation of the Ranger project area.
The company plans to compulsorily acquire the remaining shares at AUD 0.002 per share, in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001.
' We remain committed to successful rehabilitation, respecting the wishes of the Mirarr people', commented Kellie Parker, Managing Director of Rio Tinto in Australia.
Rio Tinto reaffirms its intention not to invest in the development of the Jabiluka deposit.
