GE HealthCare: positive trial on Portrait Mobile system
(CercleFinance.com) - GE HealthCare has announced the results of a two-phase pilot study with Cleveland Clinic on the Portrait Mobile monitoring system.
GE HealthCare states that the solution was tested in a post-surgical environment and demonstrated its effectiveness in reducing alarm fatigue and promoting clinically relevant interventions.
Published in the 'Journal of Clinical Anesthesia', the study reveals that patients monitored with 'Portrait Mobile' receive an average of less than three alarms per day, 82% of which are deemed useful by clinicians.
Results indicate a 60% increase in oxygen interventions for these patients, as well as a 25% reduction in vital sign abnormalities thanks to continuous monitoring.
These findings, presented at the American Society of Anesthesiologists 2024 Annual Meeting, highlight the potential of Portrait Mobile to improve care without adding to caregivers' workload. A full clinical study is currently underway.
