Diageo: inaugurates whisky distillery in China

(CercleFinance.com) - Diageo announced on Friday the inauguration of the YunTuo single malt whisky distillery in Eryuan County, China, marking 'a turning point for Chinese whisky'.


With an investment of 120 million USD over nine years, this first Diageo distillery in China combines global expertise and local resources to produce "whisky of exceptional quality", assures its manufacturer.

Located at an altitude of 2100 meters, the distillery benefits from a temperate climate and unique natural resources, such as spring water and Yunnan oak for maturation, adds Diageo.

This facility embodies Diageo's innovation and ambition to position China on the global whisky map.
