Tikehau: ChapsVision raises funds and acquires AI company
(CercleFinance.com) - ChapsVision, whose lead investor is Tikehau Capital, announced on Monday that it would be acquiring Sinequa, an AI-enhanced enterprise search engine.
The data processing start-up explains that it has simultaneously completed an 85 million euro round of financing from its historical investors, including Tikehau.
The acquisition of Sinequa, a French company, should enable ChapsVision to accelerate its development internationally and in high-potential markets such as pharmaceuticals, industry and finance.
In addition to a contribution in kind, the operation will be financed by funds raised from its reference shareholders Tikehau Capital, Bpifrance, Qualium Investissement, Geneo Capital and Jolt Capital, a new entrant to the capital.
Founded in 2019, ChapsVision - whose data mining software is aimed at enterprises and government organizations - has almost 1,000 employees, claims 1,000 key account customers and is targeting sales of over 200 million euros this year.
As an indication, Tikehau Capital has been supporting the company since 2022 through its private equity fund dedicated to cybersecurity (Brienne) and its private debt funds.
In addition, the asset management group says it is providing operational support thanks to its cybersecurity expertise and its knowledge of the AI and data sectors.
