Tikehau: ChapsVision raises funds and acquires AI company
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Tikehau Capital announced that ChapsVision, in which it is the lead investor, is to acquire Sinequa, an AI-enhanced enterprise search engine.
The asset management group reports that the start-up, which specialises in data processing, has closed a parallel round of financing of E85m from its historical investors, including Tikehau.
The acquisition of Sinequa, a French company, should enable ChapsVision to accelerate its international development and enter high-potential markets such as pharmaceuticals, industry and finance.
In addition to a contribution in kind, the operation will be financed by funds raised from its reference shareholders, Tikehau Capital, Bpifrance, Qualium Investissement, Geneo Capital and Jolt Capital, a new entrant to the capital.
Founded in 2019, ChapsVision - whose data mining software is aimed at enterprises and government organizations - has nearly 1,000 employees, claims 1,000 key account customers and is targeting sales of over E200m this year.
Tikehau Capital has been supporting the company since 2022 through its private equity fund dedicated to cybersecurity (Brienne) and its private debt funds.
In addition, Tikehau is providing operational support thanks to its expertise in cybersecurity and its knowledge of the AI and data sectors.
