USA: small increase in business inventories in September
(CercleFinance.com) - US business inventories rose only slightly in September, according to figures released Friday by the Commerce Department, showing that there is no strong accumulation of goods in the USA.
Inventories rose by just 0.1% in September, after increasing by a revised 0.3% in August.
By way of comparison, company sales rose at a rate of 0.3%, meaning that at the current rate, it takes companies 1.38 months to use up their inventories, compared with 1.35 a year earlier.
