BAE Systems: new artillery production facility in Sheffield

(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems has set up a new artillery development and production facility in Sheffield, which will create 50 highly skilled jobs.
The facility is being financed by investments of over £25 million.

The new facility of almost 29,000 m2 will house a state-of-the-art factory specializing in artillery expertise, and will support the UK government's ambitions to sustain and revitalize the UK's artillery capabilities.

''Our aim is to provide long-term artillery capability for the UK, which will safeguard, support and develop a vital specialist UK industrial capability, as well as offering significant export opportunities,'' said John Borton, Managing Director of BAE Systems' Weapons Systems UK division.
