Carlyle: EU approves acquisition of Vantive

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of Vantive, the renal care division of Baxter International by the Carlyle Group in the USA.


The transaction mainly concerns the supply of renal replacement therapy products.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the limited market positions of the companies resulting from the proposed transaction.

The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
