Amazon: 'Black Friday' kicks off tomorrow
(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon announced on Wednesday that the week of 'Black Friday', its major worldwide promotional operation, will be held this year from 21 November to 2 December.
The US Internet juggernaught cites a "still tense" economic context, however, as inflation continues to weigh on households, leading it to plan hundreds of thousands of special offers with up to 35% off.
According to a survey conducted by OpinionWay for Amazon, the cost of Christmas shopping is a source of anxiety for about half (49%) French people, with the cost of gift purchases worrying especially women and households with children (55% and 60% respectively).
In addition to bargains on Amazon devices such as the Echo, Fire TV, Kindle or Ring, Amazon plans to offer 10% off a selection of second-hand products from Amazon Seconde main.
Imported from the US, where it follows the Thanksgiving holiday, Black Friday unofficially kicks off end-of-year sales, a crucial period for retailers.
Last year, this vast commercial operation enabled Amazon customers to save billions of euros worldwide, a record.
