ABB: modernizes NASA wind tunnel

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB announces that it has upgraded a variable speed drive to extend the life of the wind tunnel at NASA's National Transonic Facility (NTF) at the Langley Research Center in Virginia by at least 10 years, as part of an ABB Motion OneCare service contract.


This upgrade, designed to compensate for aging components identified in 2021, has enabled the use of modern electronic components, guaranteeing reliability and high availability.

The control unit upgrade reduced project duration and disruption, while minimizing waste and logistics.
