Nokia: project to reduce digital divide in South Africa
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a partnership with two South African companies, technology group Reflex and telecoms operator Net Nine Nine, to bring broadband Internet to underserved areas of the country.
The project currently under development, based on Nokia's Lightspan and WiFi Beacon fiber equipment, should enable several million people to access services such as online education, telehealth and teleworking in communities in Gauteng and the Free State provinces.
