Spie: increases substation capacity in Austria
(CercleFinance.com) - In Austria, at the request of the Austrian Power Grid (APG), Spie has increased the capacity of the Kronstorf substation.
This extension is part of the 'Sichere Stromversorgung Zentralraum Oberöstereich' (Secure electricity supply for the central region of Upper Austria) project, developed by the region's grid operators to prepare the electricity network for the future.
The aim is to guarantee a sustainable electricity supply, enabling the energy transition and electrification of industry, the economy and society.
The Kronstorf substation will be part of the new 220kV supply loop. This will link APG substations to the substations of two regional distribution network operators, and will gradually and almost completely replace the existing 110kV network by 2030.
