Engie: power purchase agreement with STMicro
(CercleFinance.com) - STMicro announces a 21-year PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) with BKH Solar, an entity jointly created by Engie Renewable and Conextone Energy, a solar energy developer in Malaysia.
This agreement will facilitate the supply of around 50 GWh of renewable energy per year from a new solar farm located at Bukit Kayu Hitam in the Malaysian state of Kedah.
Geoff West, Executive Vice President of Purchasing for STMicroelectronics, said: 'This long-term power purchase agreement in Malaysia, ST's first in Asia, represents another important step towards ST's goal of achieving carbon neutrality in its operational activities (emissions from scopes 1 and 2, and part of scope 3) by 2027, in particular by sourcing 100% of its energy from renewable sources by 2027'.
