J&J: FDA approves Varipulse in atrial fibrillation

(CercleFinance.com) - Johnson & Johnson MedTech announces that the FDA has approved its Varipulse platform for the treatment of drug-resistant paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.


Integrated with the CARTO 3 electro-anatomical mapping system, this platform combines pulsed field therapy (PFA) and advanced mapping, enabling precise catheter positioning, reduced fluoroscopy and increased efficacy, says the laboratory.

According to Dr. Luigi Di Biase, the integration of this mapping is 'crucial' for electrophysiologists.

Study data (admIRE) showed 100% procedural success in 291 patients, with a primary efficacy rate of 85%.
