Thales: signs agreement with FEBUS Optics

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has teamed up with FEBUS Optics, a technology company specialising in distributed fiber optic sensor systems, to jointly develop innovative advanced solutions for the protection of undersea critical infrastructure (CUI).


In a market driven by the geopolitical climate, securing CUI such as telecoms cables, power cables and pipelines is a major challenge, it says.

These infrastructures, which are often long and complex to monitor, require innovative solutions to guarantee their integrity and safety in highly demanding environmental conditions, the group adds.

Thales will combine the acoustic data collected by FEBUS Optics technology with its expertise in sonar antenna design and acoustic signal processing.

Enhancing its BlueGuard solution, Thales will thus offer a permanent monitoring solution for the volume of water around infrastructure, and integrate it into a global monitoring system.
