USA: trade deficit rises sharply in September
(CercleFinance.com) - The US trade deficit climbed to $84.
4 billion in September, from $70.8 billion the previous month (which was slightly revised from an initial estimate of $70.4 billion), according to the Commerce Department.
This 19.2% month-on-month jump in the deficit was the result of both a 1.2% decline in US exports of goods and services, to $267.9 billion, and a 3% increase in imports, to $352.3 billion.
