CAC40: expected to remain stable with US elections
(CercleFinance.com) - The Paris Bourse is expected to open cautiously, with futures on the CAC40 down two points to 7379, as the session focuses on US politics on an election day that remains extremely indecisive.
Trump trades are a little less in vogue. Several polls seem to indicate that the electoral momentum is on the side of the Democratic candidate", notes Christopher Dembik, at Pictet Asset Management.
According to him, this dynamic has "led to a repositioning of investors over the last few hours, reflected in an easing of long rates, a fall in the dollar and also a weaker performance by the stock market (down 0.50% on the CAC 40 yesterday)".
"Nevertheless, nothing is certain. We're not immune to a surprise on Wednesday morning", warns the investment strategy consultant, who explains the sharp rise in the VIX since last week.

While awaiting - perhaps - the verdict of American voters on Wednesday morning, traders will be taking note of a number of statistics this Tuesday, including French industrial production and composite PMI indices in the UK and the USA.
In the Paris stock market, Bouygues has reported a nearly 6% increase in operating profit from ordinary activities (ROCA) for the first nine months of 2024, an improvement largely driven by its subsidiary Equans.
Traders will also be able to react to a few other activity points, such as those from digital services group Solutions30, building materials supplier Vicat and cybersecurity specialist Exclusive Networks.
