Burberry: shares soar after Moncler rumor

(CercleFinance.com) - Burberry shares on the London Stock Exchange soared by almost +6% as Moncler reportedly considers a bid for Burberry.


According to an article published on Sunday in the online luxury magazine Miss Tweed, there are growing rumors in the sector that Moncler is considering a bid for Burberry, given the significant decline in value over the past year', says UBS.

'In the context of the ongoing restructuring and the absence of a clear strategy, we believe the share should be sold with a target of 410 pence', says UBS.

Barclays has indicated that it expects the British company to post losses for the first time in the first half of the 2025 financial year, knowing that a recovery in profit margins seems difficult in the short term given the current complicated environment.
