Safran: chosen by Egypt to equip 10 patrol boats

(CercleFinance.com) - Safran has announced that the Egyptian Navy has chosen Safran Electronics & Defense to equip 10 Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) with advanced optronic and navigation systems to significantly enhance Egypt's naval defense technology.


The contract, signed with NVL Egypt, includes the VIGY 4 system, which enables observation and tracking of threats in difficult conditions, as well as the Argonyx inertial unit, offering high-performance navigation in the absence of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signals.

' Our equipment enhances the precision and safety of its maritime missions," says Alexandre Ziegler, head of Safran's Global Business Unit Defense.

Safran adds that the equipment will be installed in Egypt by the Alexandria shipyard.
