BMW: production of new M5 Touring at Dingolfing
(CercleFinance.com) - Four months after the start of production of the BMW M5 Sedan, mass production of the new BMW M5 Touring has begun at BMW's Dingolfing plant.
This is the third current BMW M vehicle to be equipped with an M Hybrid powertrain, in which a high-revving V8 is complemented by an electric motor.
Together, both engines develop a maximum output of 535 kW/727 hp and maximum torque of 1,000 Nm.
With the BMW M5 Touring, the new BMW 5 Series family 'made in Dingolfing' is complete, said Christoph Schröder, Plant Manager. We can now offer customers of our main model series worldwide a unique variety of driving technologies and body variants.
In addition to the BMW M4 Coupé and Cabriolet, the BMW M8 Coupé, Cabriolet and Gran Coupé, and the BMW M5 Sedan, the new BMW M5 Touring is the seventh M derivative to leave the Düsseldorf plant.
