TotalEnergies: deal with Sinopec in China

(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces the signature of a sales agreement (HoA) with Sinopec, for the delivery of 2 million tons of LNG per year, for 15 years, starting in 2028.


TotalEnergies thus strengthens its long-term positions on the LNG market in China, the world's largest market.

In China, natural gas is a vector of the energy transition, as it compensates for the intermittency of fast-growing renewable energies and helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions when it replaces coal in power generation, it says.

This new agreement demonstrates the competitiveness of TotalEnergies' LNG business and enables us to pursue our long-term sales growth in Asia, TotalEnergies adds.

Meanwile, Sinopec Corporation, said that it is committed to becoming the world's leading clean energy and chemicals company and will continue to promote energy transition and clean, diversified and secure energy supply.
