Atos: the French government acquires a preference share in Bull
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday evening, Bercy announced the French government's decision to acquire a preference share in Bull, the French subsidiary of Atos which operates the company's strategic supercomputer design and manufacturing activities.
The strategic asset protection agreement put in place on June 28, in return for the loan granted to Atos by the Economic and Social Development Fund, provided for the issue of a preference share in favor of the French government.
Antoine Armand, the French Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, explains: "The French State will thus benefit from enhanced rights, enshrined in the company's articles of association, which may in certain cases extend to a veto, over any information and decisions that the company may take.
The French State also adds that, as announced on October 7, it is continuing to work with Atos on new acquisition plans for the IT services group's sensitive businesses.
