BMW: production of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé

(CercleFinance.com) - The BMW Group announces the start of production of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé at the BMW Group's Leipzig plant

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is manufactured exclusively at the BMW Group's Leipzig plant, where production of the second-generation model was launched.


It joins the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and MINI Countryman in the portfolio of models built at the plant, which produces up to 1,300 vehicles a day.

All four models are produced on a single production line. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is scheduled for launch in March 2025.

Production of the first BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé began in Leipzig on November 1, 2019, with market launch in March 2020.

The main markets were the UK, China and the USA.
