Shell: FPSO off the coast of Brazil goes into service
(CercleFinance.com) - Shell Brasil Petróleo, a subsidiary of Shell, announces that production from the Marechal Duque de Caxias (Mero-3) floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit has begun in the Mero field, offshore Brazil.
The unit, with an operational capacity of 180,000 barrels per day, is 19.3% owned by Shell.
Mero-3 demonstrates our commitment to increasingly efficient and competitive projects," said Zoë Yujnovich, Shell's Head of Upstream and Gas Operations.
The unit is located 200 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, at a depth of 2,200 meters.
