Voltalia: financing of a solar project in Uzbekistan
(CercleFinance.com) - Voltalia has announced the signing of financial documentation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the financing of a solar power plant under construction in Sarimay, Uzbekistan.
The EBRD's financing package, worth up to $54.6 million, will consist of a senior loan of up to $44.8 million and a special VAT facility of nine million euros ($9.8 million).
The project will also benefit from an unfunded guarantee covering a senior loan tranche of seven million dollars provided by the European Union's Fund for Sustainable Development Plus.
This 126-megawatt power plant is scheduled for commissioning in the second half of 2025, and will benefit from a 25-year power sales contract. Its output will be equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 60,000 inhabitants.
