GE Vernova: Worley Chemetics selected for SMR in Canada

(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova announces that it has selected Worley Chemetics, based in Canada, to design and manufacture the isolation condenser system for the BWRX-300, North America's first grid-scale SMR (Small modular reactor).


This collaboration is designed to strengthen Ontario's nuclear supply chain and bring economic benefits to the region.

Worley Chemetics has joined the group of qualified suppliers for the BWRX-300, ensuring a reliable and innovative manufacturing process.

A contract has been signed to build the first BWRX-300 in Darlington (Ontario, Canada), with preparation work already underway and construction scheduled to start in 2025.

The BWRX-300 is designed to reduce construction and operating costs, while contributing to customers' decarbonization objectives.
