FDJ: EU tells it to pay E97m to French State

(CercleFinance.com) - FDJ has announced that the European Commission has concluded that no State aid was involved in its privatisation, but has reassessed the balance to secure its exclusive rights, raising it from E380m million to E477m, i.
e. an adjustment of E97m.

The total amount of the balancing payment of E477m remains in line with the range initially established by the Commission des participations et
des transferts in its notice n°2019 of October 2019.

FDJ thus welcomes this decision, which confirms the legality of its legal framework.

FDJ will pay the French State an additional compensation of E97m in return for securing its exclusive rights to the lottery and to sports betting at points of sale for a period of twenty-five years.

FDJ points out that the total amortization of exclusive operating rights will amount to E37m in 2024 and E19.1m in 2025, after E15.2m in 2023.

FDJ also points out that, following the Court of Cassation's ruling in May 2024 in the dispute with Soficoma, its share capital stands at 185,270,000 shares.

Following these announcements, the share jumped over 6% in Paris.
