Nokia: deploys optical network in Vietnam
(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia has announced that Vietnam's largest service provider, Viettel, will use its optical transport solution to meet ever-increasing demand for 5G and data center interconnection (DCI).
This deployment follows Nokia's successful PSE-6 trial with Viettel, which set an optical transmission speed record of 1.2 Tb/s per wavelength in a real-world environment.
The deployment, due for completion in 2025, will be used to connect Viettel's data centers in key metropolitan areas such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
Vito Di Maria, Head of Optical Networks at Nokia Asia Pacific, said: ' Service providers are faced with ever-increasing data traffic, making scalable optical networks crucial. Our industry-leading PSE-6s will enable Viettel not only to cost-effectively meet growing data demand, but also to improve network reliability and energy efficiency. '
