Volkwagen: 9m sales up 1% at E237.3bn

(CercleFinance.com) - The Group reported sales of E237.
3bn for the 9 months to 2024, up almost 1% from 9m 2023 (E235.1bn).

9m Operating income came to E12.9bn, down 21% y-o-y (E16.2bn): its operating margin was 5.4% at E3.3bn.

Operating income was impacted by the performance of Brand Group Core and significant restructuring expenses of E2.2bn, mainly for Brand Group Core and Brand Group Progressive, VW says.

9m 2024 group sales of 6.5 million vehicles, down 4% y-o-y (6.8 million); Vehicle order intake in Western Europe is up 9% y-o-y.

The Volkswagen Group expects deliveries to customers in 2024 to total around 9 million vehicles (2023: 9.24 million vehicles). The company expects Group sales to total around E320bn (2023: E322.3bn).

In terms of operating income, the company expects to generate around E18bn (corresponding to an operating return on sales of around 5.6%).

In the Automotive Division, VW expects net cash flow of around E2bn.
