GE Vernova: commissioning of power plant in Poland
(CercleFinance.com) - GE Vernova and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) have announced the start of commercial operations of the 1.
4 GW PGE Gryfino Dolna Odra combined cycle power plant in Poland.
GE Vernova has supplied two 683 MW blocks, comprising a GE Vernova 9HA.01 gas turbine and a STF-D650 steam turbine.
In addition to the equipment, a 12-year service contract has been signed to provide project management, training and maintenance, reinforcing the plant's operational performance.
This new plant aims to replace inefficient coal-fired units, contributing to PGE's decarbonization strategy. It will also support the transition to more sustainable energy production, as the country plans to reduce its dependence on coal.
