Neoen: first unit of Collie Battery commissioned
(CercleFinance.com) - Neoen has announced the commissioning of the first unit of the Collie Battery, in the south-western state of Western Australia, ahead of schedule and less than 18 months after starting construction.
With a capacity of 219 MW / 877 MWh, this battery is currently the largest in the state. Since October 1, it has been providing reliability to the power grid under a service contract with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
The group also points out that the second unit of Collie Battery (341 MW / 1,363 MWh), the winner of another contract with the AEMO, is currently under construction and is scheduled for commissioning in the last quarter of 2025.
