Baker Hughes: 'significant' contracts with Petrobras
(CercleFinance.com) - Following an open invitation to tender, Baker Hughes announced on October 15 that it had signed "significant" contracts with Petrobras to supply 77 km of flexible pipe systems - and associated services - for pre-salt fields in Brazil.
This multi-year project includes risers and flowlines for hydrocarbon production, as well as gas and water injection systems.
Delivery is scheduled for mid-2026, and the equipment will be used in Petrobras' Búzios, Libra, Berbigão, Sururu and Sépia fields.
The systems will also address the problem of CO2 stress corrosion (SCC-CO2), a risk for flexible pipes in areas with high concentrations of this gas.
Baker Hughes claims that its solutions have proven effective in mitigating this problem, which is essential for reducing CO2 emissions and improving oil recovery.
Amerino Gatti, Executive Vice President of Oilfield Services and Equipment at Baker Hughes, says that 'the Santos Basin in Brazil contains incredible potential to help power Latin America in the future'.
