USA: -0.8% in durable goods orders in September

(CercleFinance.com) - After declining by 0.
8% in August compared with the previous month (a figure revised from an initial estimate of stagnation), US durable goods orders fell by the same amount in September, according to the Commerce Department.

However, excluding the usually erratic transportation sector, whose orders fell by 3.1%, US durable goods orders rose by 0.4% last month on a sequential basis.

Shipments of durable goods by US industry fell by a further 0.6% month-on-month, again led by the transportation sector, which contracted by 2.4%.
