Eni: launches transformation plan for Versalis

(CercleFinance.com) - Eni has presented its transformation, decarbonization and recovery plan for its subsidiary Versalis.


The transformation plan involves an investment of around €2 billion and aims to reduce emissions by around 1 million tonnes of CO2, which currently represents around 40% of Versalis' emissions in Italy.

It includes the installation of new industrial facilities in line with the energy transition and the decarbonization of industrial sites through sustainable chemistry, as well as biorefining and energy storage.

To enable the new plants to be built, operations at the Brindisi and Priolo cracker plants, as well as the Ragusa polyethylene plant, will be gradually shut down.
