BASF to increase Neopor production in Ludwigshafen

(CercleFinance.com) - BASF has announced that it is investing to increase its Neopor production capacity by 50,000 tonnes per year at its Ludwigshafen site in Germany.


This operation is designed to meet the growing demand for this insulating material, with start-up scheduled for early 2027.

BASF points out that Neopor, an expandable polystyrene containing graphite, improves the thermal performance of insulation materials by 30% compared with white alternatives.

BASF anticipates a sharp increase in demand for insulation materials due to the European Union's climate targets.
