GE Healthcare: an application that harnesses AI in oncology
(CercleFinance.com) - GE HealthCare has announced the development of CareIntellect for Oncology, a cloud application that aggregates multimodal patient data into a single view, using generative AI to summarize clinical notes and reports.
The application also surfaces relevant data enabling care teams to quickly understand disease progression and flag potential deviations from the treatment plan.
The app, which is expected to be available to customers in the US next year, will initially focus on prostate and breast cancer.
Tampa General Hospital and UT Southwestern Medical Center will be the first to evaluate CareIntellect for Oncology, and integration is already underway.
The app is expected to be widely available to US customers in 2025, with further future expansion planned for Canada, the UK and Ireland.
' CareIntellect is designed to help providers streamline access to critical patient information and surface key changes By ensuring the provider has the right information at their fingertips, they can spend less time sorting through information and more time helping patients ', said Dr. Taha Kass-Hout, Global Head of Science and Technology at GE HealthCare.
