BMW: renewable energy for two plants

(CercleFinance.com) - The BMW Group plants in Dingolfing and Regensburg will obtain electricity generated from renewable energies directly from their own roofs.

The Dingolfing photovoltaic system, with a capacity of 11.1 MWp, will be one of the most powerful in Germany.

To achieve this goal, the automaker is leasing the roofs of its two plants in eastern Bavaria to Sunrock Holding Deutschland GmbH, which will generate electricity using photovoltaic panels and make it available to the plants under direct supply contracts from 2025.

Nicole Haft-Zboril, Head of Real Estate Management at the BMW Group, commented: 'With this project, we are not only creating one of the largest rooftop photovoltaic systems in Germany - we are also promoting the production of renewable energy directly at BMW Group plant sites. '
