Ericsson: signs protocol for 5G in Nigeria

(CercleFinance.com) - The Nigerian government has signed a new memorandum of understanding with Ericsson to develop the potential of 5G connectivity in Nigeria.


The agreement was signed during the visit of a delegation from the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Ericsson's world headquarters in Sweden.

The aim of the MoU is to establish a framework for cooperation between the Nigerian government and Ericsson Nigeria in the development, deployment and innovation of 5G technology.

Ericsson has been present in Nigeria since 1978, supporting customers' network deployments, including the launch of the country's first GSM network in 2001.
