Eni: a new solar power plant in Spain

(CercleFinance.com) - Plenitude (Eni's new brand) has begun construction work at Villarino de los Aires (Salamanca, Spain) on a solar power plant with a future installed capacity of 220 MW, which will be one of the largest in Castilla y León.


The park will cover an area of around 286 hectares, and will be connected to the national grid at the Villarino de los Aires junction by a 3.2-km underground medium-voltage line. The facility is expected to generate over 400,000 MWh of electricity per year.

Plenitude currently operates over 440 MW of installed photovoltaic and wind power capacity in Spain, with plants located, in addition to Castilla y León, in Galicia, La Rioja, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia, and projects under construction totaling around 1 GW in Andalusia (Seville and Granada), Castilla y León (Salamanca) and Extremadura (Badajoz).
