Nvidia: towards an open ecosystem for Blackwell

(CercleFinance.com) - Nvidia announced on Tuesday evening its intention to contribute to the design of its Blackwell generative AI platform as part of an open ecosystem.


The graphics card manufacturer said yesterday at the Open Compute Summit (OCP) that it intends to develop its architecture to stimulate the creation of open, efficient and scalable data center technologies.

As such, Meta plans to make its own contribution to OCP with its Catalina AI rack architecture, itself based on the Nvidia GB200 NVL72 platform.

Jensen Huang, Nvidia's founder and CEO, says he wants to work alongside industry leaders to shape designs that can be widely adopted across the data center.

By advancing open standards, we are helping organizations around the world to harness the full potential of accelerated computing and create the AI factories of the future," he explained.

Strong demand for Blackwell processors has recently boosted Nvidia's share price, which reached new all-time highs earlier this week.
