Engie: buys biomethane unit

(CercleFinance.com) - Engie announces the acquisition of a new unit in Belgium, the group's first biomethane production facility in the country.


This strategic acquisition is in line with Engie's aim to build a European production platform to accelerate its development in the biomethane sector.

The plant will be the first in the country to be converted to inject biomethane into the local gas grid from October 2024. It will have an annual biomethane production capacity of 68 GWh, equivalent to the annual consumption of 6,000 households.
