Nokia: rising 5G technology in the MEA region

(CercleFinance.com) - A Nokia study reveals that 60% of middle and upper classes in the Middle East and Africa region are adopting 5G to enhance their digital transformation.


5G adoption in the Middle East and Africa is expected to reach one in four subscriptions by 2029, underlining its critical role in future connectivity towards digital transformation.

In addition, Nokia's Mobile Broadband Index 2024 report highlights the continued rapid adoption of 5G technology in the Middle East and Africa region, forecasting that by 2029, 5G subscriptions will reach 519 million, with 48% of total data traffic expected to be generated by 5G.

5G fixed wireless access (FWA) subscriptions are expected to grow from 11% in 2022 to around 38% of total FWA subscriptions in the MEA region by 2029, thanks to advances in 5G.

Nokia said that yhe adoption of 5G is increasingly important for countries in the MEA region to meet the growing demand for data services.'
