Honeywell wins U.S. Army radar altimeter contract
(CercleFinance.com) - Honeywell announced Monday that it has won a $103 million contract from the U.
S. Army to supply new-generation radar altimeters.
This modernization contract will replace the APN-209 altimeters that have been on board many U.S. Army aircraft since their launch in 1975.
The diversified industrial group points out that, in addition to their greater accuracy, these measurement tools will perform better even during episodes of severe weather.
In a press release, Honeywell estimates that it has supplied more than 150,000 altimeters to the U.S. Department of Defense over the past 60 years.
