Amazon: increases investment in training in France

(CercleFinance.com) - Amazon announced on Monday that it plans to devote about E50m to training its French employees between through to 2030.


The US Internet giant says that, via its subsidiary Amazon Web Services it intends to train 600,000 people in France in digital skills by 2030, including cloud, artificial intelligence and security.

At the same time, AWS intends to extend the 'AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance' initiative to France, which aims to meet the growing demand for cloud computing workers.

Already launched in 12 countries, this program, which brings together AWS, employers, educational establishments and public bodies, aims to train 25,000 learners by 2030 and put them in touch with employers.

According to a report by the Observatoire prospectif des métiers et des qualifications (Opiiec), an additional 70,000 jobs in cloud-related professions will need to be filled by 2030 in France.

In a press release, Amazon - which employs over 22,000 employees in France - points out that more than 5,300 employees at our logistics sites have obtained state-recognized diplomas or taken certifying training courses to acquire new skills in 'data science, mechatronics or healthcare professions since 2021.

To showcase these career opportunities in emerging and high-demand professions, Amazon and France Travail are planning to co-organize an open day at Station F on 21 October, dedicated to training in the professions of the future.
